Making 3D Music Videos | Behind The Scenes
Creating 3D Music Videos
With music videos, i’m able to expand the story around the lyrics of my songs. Through 3D visuals, music can be catapulted to the next level. All is takes is some makeup, a green screen, and a little help from some friends! Take a look behind the scenes of my next Official Music Video below.
how to make a professional music video
So how do you make a music video? The process of making music videos is a long, but rewarding one. Before we can get into the 3D visuals and special effects, we must first create a song. Writing and recording the music is one of my favorite parts, but it can be a lengthy process. Once the song has been recorded, we can create a video with music. This takes a few sessions to get right, and ideas are never set in stone. Creativity doesn’t stop once filming begins, so I always allow some breathing room for the story line.
Planning A Video Shoot
Once a bomb song is written, it’s time to start planning the shoot. Planning is crucial and without it, time and money is lost. Having an idea of what scenes will be using the same costumes allows me to work as efficiently as possible. If i’m using actors/extras, this is the part where I hire and schedule them.
Filming with a Green Screen
One of my favorite parts of the music video process is filming. For 3D videos, I tend to use green screen. With a green screen, i’m able to travel anywhere. I could be on top of a mountain or chilling on a beach… it’s up to me! Shooting videos with green screen can be tricky, but my producer Chris Shelton knows how to make this process smooth and enjoyable.
